<![CDATA[Sing on in Silhouettes]]> http://www.zymogen.net Sky Diary.
The Sky diary Edits album was a great success and turned out as one of the most elaborate projects carried out at this place ever.
On december 26th Fred Baty aka Crepusculum released his new album Sing on in Silhouettes on 12rec. The album is available for free download and we really recommend you to make yourself a gift. This is what our friends at 12rec have to say about it:

"Fred brings to perfection what was his trademark ever since. Kitsch and emotional weight, musical craftmanship and a self-taught comprehension in harmonics setting apart Crepusculum from all guitar music you might have heard before."

All the best for 2010!]]>

<![CDATA[zym024/Werken - Sum]]> http://www.zymogen.net/releases/zym024/ Tilman Ehrhorn known for his releases on Mille Plateaux and Resopal Schallware.
Working full time as saxophone and reed player, composer, producer and sound designer Tilman Ehrhorn is a highly regarded jazz artist who also took roots in the electronic world.

This release introduces an experimental and ambientish dubby side of his producing skills.
In many parts of the tracks, beats are used rhythmically free to interrupt a pulsing soundpad, which is a main element of the music. Some minimal changing figures are taking hold to break up continous sequential patterns. The non-conventional manner of generating sounds as well as using elements of chance within the production process creates similarities with the improvisational niveau of jazz and contemporary composed music.

<![CDATA[Netaudio Berlin 2009]]> http://www.zymogen.net Netaudio Berlin by Jimmy Behan and D'incise who will perform tonight at the experimental stage at Maria club.

"From the 8th to the 11th of October 2009, Netaudio Berlin will be gathering the international netaudio community for a four-day music and conference festival in Berlin, under the title “East meets West”. 2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain. We recall pictures of hands reaching out to pull people from both sides up onto the Berlin wall. The event will take place at Maria, a venue situated immediately on the former Berlin ‘death strip’ once dividing the city and the world into eastern and western hemispheres." ]]>

<![CDATA[zym023/Oskar Hallbert - 1123581321345589]]> http://www.zymogen.net/releases/zym023/ The EP "Sids apartment" on Rainmusic has been one of Zymogen's favourite album of 2008 and we luckily got in touch with him to plan the re-release of "1123581321345589". Previously released in 50 copies on a small american CD-r label.

"1123581321345589" is a concept album on the Fibonacci numbers. Oskar writes:

"I'm interested in numbers, and I'm interested in failuers. Fibonacci tried to make a number sequence that would show how a population of rabbits grew. Turns out his number sequence is worhless if you try to show how a rabbit population grows - BUT he unwillingly discovered something far more interesting. Turns out that the Fibonacci numbers appear everywhere in nature, in the proportion of our bodies, in the way that sunflowers organize there seeds, in the way branches grow on a tree and the way leafs grow on the branches, in the way eagles fly towards their preys - everywhere. The Fibonacci numbers are the closest we've got to mathematicly understand the laws by wich our world is created."

<![CDATA[zym022/Nicola Ratti - ésope]]> http://www.zymogen.net/releases/zym022 Nicola Ratti is one of Zymogen's favourite Italian composers.
After the acclaimed album From The Desert Came Saltwater, published on Anticipate in 2008, and the collaborative project Bellows with Giuseppe Ielasi, Nicola gives us a unique composition called ésope.
This work was originally done for the exhibition "ésope reste ici et se repose"#1, which took place in Montpellier between October 30th and December 13th 2008.
It's a single track based on processed field recordings taken in Montpellier between the 22nd and 25th April of the same year and was conceived of as the musical background for the exhibition.
Nicola Ratti's music is based on the search for a personal language that is capable of joining basic song structure, electro-acoustic experimentation and the use of sounds extracted from the environment in which we live. He does this with a sensibility that ranges from improvisation to the construction of sound via sheer artisanship.]]>
